Hingaia Peninsula School is a new school in Karaka - which opened in February 2012.
Designing for education is a collaborative process, whereby the vision and values of the school are applied to the design, manufacture and installation of very specific resources.
Hingaia’s approach was to establish learning studios, which are used as agile learning spaces. Each studio has purpose built spaces including a performance space, a collaborative space, an independent space and a project space, to allow for the creative, collaborative and agile nature of learning.
Lundia designed and installed customised Library Shelving with storage, Rotadrive Mobile Storage and X4.
Hingaia were able to customise their suite of X4’s with interactive touch screens, which further complements X4’s integration for modern classroom technologies such as Netbooks and ipads. Great forward-thinking –we like that!
Teachers are benefitting from the Lundia’s Rotadrive Mobile Storage, which allows for easy access to numerous resources, which can all be stored in the same place. Safety locks on the Mobile System also ensure sections can’t be moved when a teacher is inside.
Natural Timber Shelving in the library complements the architectural design of the building by using natural materials and Adjustable Shelving allows for re-configuration and adjustments to suit their changing needs.
Hingaia Peninsula School is a great example of forward thinking, great technologies and wonderful resources, brought together for the benefit of the next generations.
